Attendee-Organized Events at Shambhala 2024

Below are some of the theme days and meet-ups that guests of Shambhala Music Festival have organized for the 25th Annual Festival.

Please note that this list consists of unofficial events (not officially endorsed by Shambhala Music Festival).

Theme Camps

Camp Daddy

When: 10am to 5pm, with rotating drop-in throughout the evening

What: This camp is a haven where dads help make your Shambs experience better. We offer tent repair, supply forgotten toothbrushes, and welcome everyone with open arms. Enjoy borrowed floaties, a pool filled with pillows and stuffed animals, along with games, books, and painting supplies.

Camp DayCare

When: 10am-2am

What: Camp Daycare is a place to relax, be a kid, do a craft, colour, adopt a stuffed animal, stock up on a juice box or a snack and meet new people. We offer a multitude of daily activities from making friendship bracelets, arts and crafts, stuffed animal adoption day, a take one leave one, mini workshops, music hour with little instruments to play, etc; fully stocked with fun things for our guests to do at all times. It's a place to connect and enjoy the comforts of home.

The Cat Dome

When: Dusk till dawn every night (8pm - 5am)
What: There are 15 hosts that will welcome guests to this 25 ft diameter geodesic dome projected with trippy 3D visuals and dancing cats at night! The visuals run in real time with people controlling everything with a game controller. There is seating to chill inside and watch the visual

The Sonic Portal

When:

Thursday: 4pm-8pm & Midnight-4am
Friday: 2pm-8pm & Midnight-4am
Saturday: 2pm-8pm & Midnight-4am
Sunday: 4pm-Midnight & Sunrise (TBD, signup sheet during the weekend if enough attendees are interested)

What: Utilising a collection of precisely tuned nickel and silver gongs, our Sonic Sculptors craft a fluid and unique acoustic soundscape around you in 360 degrees. The resonant sound waves penetrate your entire being, offering an extraordinary sensory experience that is both heard and felt. This immersive environment creates a rapid disconnection from external surroundings giving the illusion of travel. Take a trip on The Sonic Portal:

The Sonic Portal is designed to provide a sanctuary from the bustling festival environment, enabling participants to reconnect with themselves. Insulated from external distractions, patrons can experience the profound benefits of meditation, including reduced stress, enhanced well-being, self-exploration, and a sense of deep relaxation.

20 Years of the Living Room Stage

When: July 25th - 29th, 2024

Where: The Living Room Stage

What: Celebrate 20 Years of the Living Room Stage, in tandem with the 25th Anniversary of Shambhala Music Festival!

When: Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at 3:30pm

Where: The Wishing Tree

What: Join us in practising sustainability, and kindness as we trade treasure for treasure. Bring your lightly used rave gear to trade with fellow Shambhalites. One wook’s trash is another wook’s fashion statement✨

Day Onesie

When: Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at 4pm

Where: Meet under the Wishing Tree at 4pm!

What: Wear your favourite onesie to celebrate the opening of our first two stages for the weekend, the AMP and the Living Room.

Shambhala D&D Game

When: Thursday, July 25th 2024 at 6:30pm

Where: The Wishing Tree

What: Come join in on the game! We’ll have everything you need but If you would like to make your own character please bring a level 3 character made with 5E rules.

Friday, July 26th

ShambhaSpirit Parade

When: Friday, July 26, 2024 at 12pm

Where: Meet at the Culture Canopy

What: Come one, come all and bring your dance moves to groove with Rhythm by Nature drummers, who will keep the beat while we make our way through downtown. Attractions troupes will get you in the spirit! Bring costumes, flair and pizazz - musical instruments are welcome too.

Pizza Floaty Party

When: Friday, July 26th, 2024 at 11:30 AM

Where: Salmo River Beach. Specifically, at the main beach, toward the side of the Living Room stage. Keep an eye out for the pizza floaty party flag!

What: An epic pizza floaty party! Bring a pizza floaty and a rope, and come help create the biggest pizza floaty party ever!

Farmily WookwIll PART 2

WorldWide Wizard Duel (WWWD)

When: Friday, July 26, 2024 at 6pm

Where: The Wishing Tree

What: Welcome all wizards, witches, warlocks and any creature of the magic persuasion to the duel of the weekend. If you’ve ever wanted a chance to use your magic to challenge your enemies (and your friends) , now is your chance. Greet your opponents under the Wishing Tree and then battle it out. Use of magic and foam weapons encouraged. Please no glitter, water, or actually harm. Consent first! There is no prize for the winners except for glory and level 9 magic.

Farm Fam Friday

When: Friday, July 26, 2024 at 6pm

What: Hey there, Farm Fresh Fam! Get ready to unleash your inner farm animal glam! Dress up like a cow, pig, or even a horse - We'll prance and dance, of course! Gather 'round the Wishing Tree in the afternoon sun - Let's mooove and groove till the evening's begun!

Get excited, get loud, it's gonna be great - A wild farm adventure, don't be late!

11th Annual Captain Thomas’ Shamb Virgin Train

When: Friday, July 26, 2024 6 - 6:45pm

Where: Basscamp Art Gallery

What: A Special guided tour for first timers through Shambhala on AN IMAGINARY TRAIN, formerly led by veteran Shambassador "Captain Thomas", now supported by the Shambassador team at Shambhala! Think of it as an hour of ridiculousness, being exposed to all the stages (GROUP DANCE MOVES), combined with some awesome useful tips, information and secrets about the festival!

Mougee Star Meet-Up

When: Friday, July 26th, 2024 at 7pm

Where: Fractal Forest (During Joanna Magik)

What: Join us for the flow meet-up hosted by @Rainbowbrightlights at Fractal Forest on Friday at 7pm. Keep an eye out for your host, dressed as a chef and spinning a pizza, and join in on the fun!

What: Get ready to flutter your wings and light up the night – it's time to gather around our favourite Lights, Lamps, and Beams at Shambhala!

What: COME ONE, COME ALL! All Sailor Moon Universe Characters/ gender benders and splices encouraged!!! Bring out the magical person in you!

Pride Parade

When: ‍Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 12pm

Where: Meet at the Culture Canopy

What: Come celebrate yourself with flags, ribbons, rainbows! All are welcome to join our ShambhaSpirit Troupes as they dance their way through downtown with our Attractions team performers and artists. Bring your best moves and make some noise in support of 2SLGTBQAI+ communities. Meet at the Culture Canopy, or join-in en route! Don’t worry about what to wear—put on the costume that reflects your most authentic self and join the party.
