Tha Funk Junkie is the drum and bass alias of Rory Stewart, whose roots trace back to funky house and breakbeats, and has since evolved through a different perspective on the industry: fifteen years touring the world as a leading systems engineer with PK Sound, and touring the world with some of the largest EDM producers ad DJ's. Working closely with some of electronic music’s biggest artists and festivals, Stewart spent over a decade immersed in the technical and sonic side of large-scale live sound. Night after night in front of massive systems and high-energy crowds reshaped his musical direction, pulling him toward the speed, weight, and precision of drum and bass. Under the name Tha Funk Junkie, he now channels that experience into high-impact DnB sets that blend tight low-end, rolling percussion, and the groove sensibilities of his earlier house and breakbeat days. The result is a style that keeps the funk in the rhythm while pushing the intensity of modern drum and bass—built for powerful sound systems and dance floors that don’t want to stop moving.
