ROOTS FLOW blends yoga, mantra, movement, meditation, and somatic release. Guided by Rae Roots, the workshop weaves postures, breath, and partner exercises. A fun way to ground, inviting land connection and centering. Sound supports the experience, sometimes as subtle background while exploring complex movement, and at other times encouraging dance, vocal release, and expression. Music draws from Jamaica, Africa, the UK, and beyond, spanning dub, reggae, breaks, ancestral rhythms, and meditative sounds. Acknowledging the roots of yoga in India and drawing from wisdom gained through years of practice and study, Rae shares both guided sequences and leaves space to explore your own way of moving. RAE ROOTS (E-RYT 500) with over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training, is a dedicated yoga practitioner, teacher, DJ, and radio show host with a background in biomedical sciences. Founder of the neighbourhood yoga home, ‘the shala’ in East Vancouver (@raerootsyoga) — a down-to-earth space rooted in care and respect for yoga’s origins — Rae sees yoga as a path to the heart, to connect wholly to our nature and to live with peace and joy. She teaches in a way that is both informative and welcoming, with an approach that is playful and attentive, keeping practice accessible while honouring the profound depth of yoga as a spiritual practice.
