Gaz Frost is a Nottingham-based music producer, audio engineer, and arts practitioner, best known as one half of the dubstep production duo Congi. Since forming in 2010, Congi has carved out a distinct sound within the 140 BPM spectrum, blending deep, atmospheric textures with intricate percussion. Their music has been released on respected labels such as White Peach, Deep Heads, Fent Plates, Brownswood Recordings, The Chikara Project, and Chord Marauders. In 2013, Gaz and Congi collaborator Tulip co-founded Chord Marauders, a collective and label dedicated to pushing forward-thinking bass music with jazz and soul influences. Through this platform, Congi has helped shape a unique corner of the dubstep scene, collaborating with artists like Yazmin Lacey, Mystic State, DE-TÜ, Occult, Kercha, Geode, and Jafu. Their work has taken them across the UK, Europe, and New Zealand, performing at key venues and festivals known for championing underground sounds. Beyond his work with Congi, Gaz also releases solo Grime and Dubstep under the alias Frost. His productions have landed on Pondlife Party and White Peach, with his biggest track, “CKY RIP”, achieving cult status in the scene. The track has been repressed three times on vinyl due to high demand and has amassed over 1 million streams. Alongside his production career, Gaz is an established arts practitioner and an audio engineer at DTR Studios in Nottingham, working closely with artists across various genres. His expertise in sound design, recording, mixing, and mastering has made him a key figure in the UK underground music community.
