Shambhala 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must announce the 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival, originally scheduled for July 2020, will be postponed to July 2021. The festival will be held at the same location it has called home since 1998: the Salmo River Ranch.

Shambhala is not only a music festival, but it’s also a yearly reunion with our Farmily and a time to return home to ourselves. It’s a place where we can freely express ourselves without reservations. It has always been about the people on the dancefloor, and we know once we are all reunited again, it will be a Shambhala to remember. 

The 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival will now be held July 23-26, 2021. We can’t ignore that it’s going to be the longest wait yet, but we will be right here with you spreading the good vibes and sharing memories until we can be reunited. We can’t wait to dance with our Farmily again when it is safe to do so! ⁠

2021 FAQS

The 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival will take place July 23-26, 2021.

At this time, we have paused ticket sales for the 23rd Annual Shambhala Music Festival so that we can focus on providing prompt communication to our 2020 guests. We hope to have the ticket page back up again in the coming weeks. We will provide updates when further information becomes available regarding the sales launch for the remainder of tickets. Thank you for your support!

At this time, it is too soon to confirm exactly what our next festival lineup will look like. As always, you can expect a stacked lineup for 2021 with the same world-class calibre our Stage Directors have always delivered.

Postponement FAQs

In saying that, we hope that our 3-year hold policy will accommodate our guests and ensure that they are able to get the value out of their ticket. At any time, ticket holders are also able to transfer or sell their ticket via our online transfer system. 

Shambhala Music Festival works hard to create a unique experience that reflects  ShambhaLove. We do this by avoiding anything that might water down the true representation of our community and therefore do not accept any corporate sponsorship. By doing this, we take on all of the operating costs that might have otherwise been taken care of by corporate sponsorship funds. In addition to this, like most other music festivals, we have significant overheads that make refunding tickets impossible for us.

When making the decision on how we will move forward, we considered all options in terms of alternative dates. The reality is, there isn’t a clear timeline for when travel and even small gatherings will be allowed. We simply do not feel confident choosing a new date for 2020 at this time. In addition, our community and guests have many concerns surrounding the current COVID-19 pandemic and its aftershocks, which lead us to believe they would not attend our festival in the fall even if it were deemed safe. If we were to host a festival in the fall, it would give very little lead-up time for the next festival in the summer. The site needs significant preparations each year to be turned into proper festival grounds. We have no desire to scale back our festival offerings that we have been striving to improve year after year. 

We are in a unique yet positive situation hosting our event on our same family farm every year. This pandemic was unprecedented, but with your support, we will pick up the pieces and continue to spread Shambhalove through the magic of the festival as we have done so for the last 22 years.

3-Year Hold FAQs

All 2020 tickets & ShambhaLodging packages are eligible to be transferred to a year of your choice. You may select any year between 2021, 2022, and 2023. There is no rush to fill out the form - you will be guaranteed the year of your choosing. We will be as flexible as we can with this process up until the transfer deadline, however, we ask that you only fill out the form once you are certain of which year you’d like to attend. The date of the transfer deadline is still to be announced, but rest assured guests will have plenty of time to make a decision.

Once your order items have been transferred to 2021, 2022, or 2023 and the transfer deadline date has passed, those items will be locked in for their selected year(s). There is no rush to fill out the form - you will be guaranteed the year of your choosing. We will be as flexible as we can with this process up until the transfer deadline, but we ask that you only fill out the form once you are certain of which year you’d like to attend. The date of the transfer deadline is still to be announced, but rest assured guests will have plenty of time to make a decision.

Once your order items have been transferred to 2021, 2022, or 2023 and the transfer deadline date has passed, those items will be locked in for their selected year(s). If you are no longer able to attend the year selected, you are welcome to sell your items and use our online transfer system to transfer the order to a trusted buyer: https://portal.shambhalamusicfestival.com/

You will be able to transfer the items within your order to different years. Please select the Combination option on the form and include as much information as possible on the transfer form. Our customer service team will reach out by email to confirm your transfer.

You will have many months to decide. There will be a deadline in late Fall when all 2020 ticket/lodging transfer selections will need to be submitted and finalized and no further changes to the year will be permitted. This transfer deadline will be communicated to all guests by email.

Once your Payment Plan has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email along with the transfer form to select the year of your choice.

We are accepting donations of any size as a gift to the festival, however, it is certainly not expected. It is no secret that the events industry is suffering because of the ongoing COVID-19 circumstances. However, we have faced challenges in the past and know that with the support of our Farmily, we can get through nearly anything the world throws at us. If you are in the position to do so, a donation of any size would greatly support the Shambhala team. We would also like to thank those who have already reached out and offered to gift us their ticket, it means the world to us.

Shambhalodging

Comfort, convenience, and the ultimate festival experience. Shambhalodging is your one stop shop for the best of what the Salmo River Ranch has to offer. One of our five different packages is sure to be exactly the festival camping experience you’re after.

Our camp zone is a four to five minute walk to the downtown area. Tucked away from the excitement of the festival, it offers a bit of peace and tranquility, while still keeping you close to the action. Our Lodging hosts are available 24 hours a day to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe experience.

All Lodging packages are based on double occupancy, with the exception of Belle-Luxe (which can accommodate four people) and Central Park (which can accommodate however many people fit in the allotted space). CAMPSITE ONL

BYOTent. Our Campsite Only package includes a 10’ x 10’ campsite where you can set up your own tent. Please check the size of your tent before you come to the festival. It will need to fit within a 10’ x 10’ space. All campsites are approximately 120 square feet (10’x10′) with slight variation from site to site. Campsite only guests will also enjoy priority processing through the gate for one vehicle and waived early entry fees for two people.

BASSICS

Forget hauling a tent and air mattress and make camping easy with the BASSics package. You’ll arrive to a tent and queen size air mattress all set up for you in a 10x10 campsite. Simply bring your pillows and bedding. No room to pack bedding? No problem. Simply add the bedding upgrade during the checkout process. 

BASSics tents measure 9’x9′ with a peak height of 4’7. All campsites are approximately 120 square feet (10’x10′) with a slight variation from site to site. BASSics guests will also enjoy priority processing through the gate for one vehicle and waived early entry fees for two people.

FANCY PANTS

Experience the party of a lifetime in style with the Fancy Pants package. Enjoy a full camp setup in a luxurious 10’ x 12’ canvas tent on a raised deck platform. This package includes all the upgrades: a foam mattress, bedding (pillows, sheets, comforter), two lawn chairs, 45L cooler, water jug, complimentary showers, priority processing through the gate for one vehicle and waived early entry fees for two people.

BELLE-LUXE

The Belle-Luxe package offers the perfect blend of space and comfort. These massive 5 metre diameter bell tents provide lots of wiggle room for group camping. Made of highly breathable natural cotton canvas, the Belle-Luxe package is designed for use by 4 people. 

The package includes 2 queen size beds and all the upgrades: bedding (pillows, sheets and thin comforters), water jug, 45L cooler, 4 lawn chairs, complimentary showers, priority processing through the gate for one vehicle and waived early entry fees for 2 people.

CENTRAL PARK

As close to Downtown as you can get. Central Park offers RV site hookups right in the middle of everything outside downtown Shambhala. Bring your RV / Trailer and enjoy your 15’ x 50’ campsite, 30 amps of power, daily freshwater refill and sani-dump. These campsites offer plenty of room for your RV / trailer, friends’ tents, and campsite furniture. Express Entry for one vehicle and waived early entry fees for up to 4 people.

Central Park is very close to the stages, so earplugs are recommended for your downtime. Stages have 15-20 hours of musical programming per day.

*Please note: the power supply for Central Park will end at 12pm PST on Monday.

All guests are welcome to stay the night on Monday to fully recharge before hitting the road. Please make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep before driving home. Excessive music and partying in campsites will be shut down by event staff on Monday.

We ask that all guests leave the property by noon on the Tuesday after the festival.

TICKET FAQ

You can buy tickets using a valid credit card or Paypal account.

Entry on Friday at 8am (PST), free tenting and free parking are included with all General Admission tickets ($+ taxes & fees).

There are options you may choose for additional fees to enhance your Shambhala Music Festival experience.

  • Upgrade and pay Early Entry fees which will be collected in cash as you enter and will vary depending on date of arrival.
  • Upgrade your parking to camp with your camperized vehicle in Sunshine Campgrounds.
  • Upgrade your parking to camp with your camperized vehicle, RV, or Trailer in Starlight Campground.
  • Upgrade your camping with a ShambhaLodging package.

Please note that Lodging & Central Park RV upgrades can be purchased in advance. Early entry and parking upgrades are available on-site only. Parking upgrades are limited and are sold first-come, first-serve.

Yes. All tickets are now electronic that will either need to be printed or downloaded through our new online system prior to arrival. 

Yes! We are happy to announce we can ship these holographic keepsakes anywhere in the world.

Each ticket needs to be assigned to a unique email address. You will need to create an email address if you don’t have one already.

This option will be available through our new online system starting on July 16th. 

No, providing the ticket has been properly transferred prior to the new individual arriving at the festival. 

Yes. Once a ticket has been transferred to your name, you will have the ability to transfer it again online through our new system.

You will be denied entry and will either need to leave the farm or track down a ticket that is still transferable. No exceptions. The name on the ticket MUST match the ID of the person using it at the festival.

Yes! The tickets will be held under the original purchaser’s name until you properly transfer each ticket to each friend online through our new system. You must transfer your extra tickets to your friends coming to the festival BEFORE you arrive at the gate. 

No. Each ticket needs a unique name and email address associated with it. Your friend would need to have their own ticket in their name. Having multiple tickets in your name or account will cause significant delays at the main gate.

 

No, tickets are non-refundable. You may sell your ticket to someone else so they can use it. You will need to properly transfer the ticket to the new individual online through our new system.

No. There will be no longer be will-call. The ticket must be properly transferred and assigned to your friend online through our new system prior to the festival.

We prefer if you arrive with a printed copy, however, we are able to process ticket barcodes at the gate from your phone or another electronic device.

Once the festival has sold out, we do not offer tickets at the gate with the exception of Sunday-only tickets available for purchase only on the day of starting at 8 AM (PST). Quantities are limited and vary depending on the volume of guests leaving the property.

Day passes may only be purchased on Sunday at the gate for $160 (cash only). You must have your government-issued ID.

If your wristband comes loose or falls off, keep it safe! You must have both your electronic ticket stub, ID and the damaged wristband to receive a replacement. No exceptions. Talk to the SMF Crew at the Info booth, they will help arrange an escort to replace your wristband. If you feel like your wristband is too loose or may fall off, be proactive and get it replaced before it happens. All replacement wristbands are issued at the gate.

Re-entry is $20 CAD per person, cash only. Payable upon return to the event. Please ensure you DO NOT remove or tamper with your wristband. Any tampered wristbands will be turned away at the gate and asked to leave the site, no exceptions.

Each year come showtime, online ticket assistance ends. This means Shambhala Music festival is unable to assist guests with ticket inquiries via email. All ticket inquiries after this date will be dealt with in person at the festival, or via e-mail shortly after the festival is complete. Bring all the information you have regarding your order and it will be sorted out at the gate. Also, check out our website and FAQs for helpful information.

No, your GA ticket will allow you into the festival grounds come Friday 8am. Early entry is an upgrade of an additional fee which will depend on the day you choose to arrive. 

No, Shambhala Music Festival does not offer assistance in the reselling of tickets.

Early Entry fee is per person.

ELECTRONIC TICKETING SYSTEM FAQ

The link to our new online system is “https://portal.shambhalamusicfestival.com/”. You will need to log in using the e-mail address associated with your order and click the “Reset or Create Password” button to generate your password.

Our new online ticketing system lets you manage your own order! You can easily view all your order items online, make changes to your contact information (address, phone number, upload your photo), transfer tickets & ShambhaLodging packages, print out your electronic ticket and much more!

Please visit our portal here and use the email address associated with your order. If it’s your first time accessing your order online, you will need to create a password by clicking “Reset or Create Password.”

You can easily transfer some or all of the items on your order by clicking the purple “Start a Transfer Button”. This will prompt you to fill in the new individual’s legal name, email address and phone number. Please carefully review the items you are transferring before completing the transfer. Transfers cannot be undone.

Once a transfer has taken place, both the original purchaser and the new individual will receive an official transfer receipt from SMF. This e-mail will contain information on how the new individual can log into the online ticketing system to access their new tickets or ShambhaLodging packages. Once transferred, those items are removed from the original purchaser’s account. If you did not receieve your transferred ticket, please check your junk mail folder and ensure that it was transferred to the correct email. 

No. Each ticket must be associated with a unique name and email address. If you have purchased multiple tickets, you will need to transfer each one to the person using it at the festival. If you have an extra ticket but are unsure who will be using it at the festival, you can wait to transfer it.

Yes. Tickets can be transferred multiple times.

No. Once any items have been transferred off your order you no longer have access to those items and the transfer cannot be undone. So please use extreme caution.

Click the “Reset or Create Password” button and a password reset email will be sent to you. Please check your junk mail/ spam folder if this email does not pop up in your inbox.

You will need to visit our sales page on our website to add any tickets or ShambhaLodging packages to your existing order.

The 'reset key invalid' error code will generally pop up for two different reasons. 1) You clicked the password reset button more than once and are not using the most recent link we have sent you. If clicked more than once, it invalidates the previous links and only the most current one will work. 2) You are copy and pasting the link in the email instead of clicking the link directly. Also, trying from a different device seems to help people that are running into the same issue.

If it’s your first time accessing our new online system, you will not have a password and will need to create one by clicking the “Reset or Create Password” button. A password reset link will be emailed to you.

ShambhaLodging FAQ

Yes! 

Yes, if that package is still available and not sold out. Please email lodging@shambhalamusicfestival.com from the email address associated with your order (including your Order ID #) and we will invoice you for the difference in pricing.

No. As per our terms and conditions, all sales are final. If you can no longer attend the festival, you are responsible for passing along the package to a friend or selling it. You can transfer ownership of the package through our new online system.

Yes, you can transfer your ShambhaLodging package to a new individual providing you haven’t printed out our ShambhaLodging placard yet. All ticket and ShambhaLodging transfers need to be done through our new online system.

Once you have created a password and logged in, click the “Start a Transfer” button and enter in all the contact information of the individual you’re transferring the package to. ** Please ensure all information is correct as a transfer cannot be undone and permanently removes the item from your account.

No. Tickets must be purchased separately. 

Yes, transfers must be done through our online portal. Please ensure that you also forward the lodging placard in addition to the package.

Both parties will receive a transfer receipt/confirmation from us once the transfer has gone through. This receipt will include information for the new individual regarding how they can access their order. Please check your junk mail/ spam folders if it does not appear in your inbox.

No. Our online system only facilitates the transferring of tickets and ShambhaLodging packages but not payment. Payment needs to be figured out by both parties involved. Please use extreme caution as a transfer cannot be undone.

We are currently working on a better system to accommodate group reservations. Stay tuned and be sure to check your inbox for updates on how to reserve campsites and group campsites. 

Payment Plans

Shambhala Music Festival has a Payment Plan option for those who wish to manage their budget by paying for their ticket(s) by installments over a 3 month period.

To take advantage of the Payment Plan, the ticket(s) must be secured (& the first installment made) at the time of purchase. Tickets purchased under the Payment Plan option are paid by 3 monthly installments and will vary depending on how many tickets you’ve decided to purchase under the plan.

By purchasing a ticket to the festival under the Payment Plan option, the purchaser agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions in addition to Shambhala Music Festival’s Terms and Conditions.

Payment Plan Terms and Conditions

The Shambhala Music Festival Payment Plan has a limited quantity of tickets and Shambhalodging packages available starting on ticket launch day.

To take advantage of the Payment Plan, you must purchase your ticket(s) or tickets and Shambhalodging under the Payment Plan page on our website.

The Payment Plan is only available for GA tickets OR Shambhalodging packages IF paired with tickets. It is not available for ShambhaLodging packages alone, ShambhaLodging add-ons or collectable holographic keepsakes.

All installments must be completed no later than one month prior to the festival. The last day to sign up will be 3 months prior to the festival. These exact dates will be determined by the festival dates.

The amount of the monthly installment will vary depending on the Payment Plan package selected.

By opting to use the Payment Plan to purchase your festival ticket(s), you authorize Shambhala Music Festival to arrange monthly payments that will be automatically deducted from your account on the exact date the following two months of when you signed up.

*Please ensure you have the funds available for your payment dates*

Monthly payments will be required in 3 equal installments.

The first installment must be paid immediately at the time of purchase.

It is your responsibility to ensure that:

  • The contact details you have provided are correct
  • You notify Shambhala Music Festival (sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com) if your card details have changed.
  • You have sufficient funds available on your credit card or PayPal account on the scheduled installment dates throughout the payment period. If you paid using a PayPal account, you can log in and upgrade your card info. If you paid without an account, we will need to invoice you directly as we are unable to change your payment details.
  • If you believe that a payment has been initiated incorrectly, please email sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com immediately so we can correct it.

You are responsible for contacting Shambhala Music Festival regarding any dispute prior to the monthly payment due date.

If you would like to cancel your Payment Plan order BEFORE the final installation has been paid and receive a credit on your account for a future purchase with Shambhala Music Festival, please contact sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com. *There are no refunds on payment plans. We could place your Payment Plan on hold and you could pick up the payments again once you’re ready to resume payment, or we can cancel your Payment Plan. Cancelling your Payment Plan releases your guaranteed ticket and other items in your order for this year, and the installments already paid will count as credit towards a future purchase with us.

Please note: Orders can only be cancelled and credited while in the ‘Payment Period’. No credits can be given past the Payment Plan ‘Completion Date’ (once the final installation has been paid).

As with all GA tickets and ShambhaLodging, orders purchased under the Payment Plan are non-refundable once they have been completely paid for. No exceptions. Shambhala Music Festival’s Terms & Conditions apply.

Orders purchased under the Payment Plan option will only be available to the purchaser after the final installment has been processed. Once final payment has been received, we will email you a SMF transaction receipt which includes your Order ID # and log-in link to where you can access your order online. Your order will not appear on your online account until the final payment has been processed.

All Payment Plan tickets and lodging are subject to the Shambhala Music Festival’s Terms and Conditions.

Payment Plan FAQ

Our Payment Plans give our guests with a lower income or those with a budget the option to pay for their tickets and Shambhalodging over a 3 month period.

Three total. Excluding your first installment due at the time of purchase, there will be two installments across the following two months on the same day.

This will depend entirely on the total amount of the Payment Plan option selected. Please see our Payment Plan page for a full list of pricing.

If you signed up for your Payment Plan using a PayPal account, you can simply log in and update your card number. If you signed up without an account, please contact sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com as we will need to invoice you directly for the remainder of your installments.

Once you have opted to use our Payment Plan, you are required to make your first payment installment at the time of purchase. The next payments will automatically be deducted from your account on the same day on the two months following when you signed up. (example - Sept 17th, Oct 17th, Nov 17th).

No. Each installment is automatically deducted from your account by PayPal and we are unable to alter the dates. If you need to suspend your payment plan until a later date, please contact sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com

Yes. You will receive a receipt from PayPal after completing payment on each installment. You will receive a SMF transaction receipt once your final installment has been paid.

No, we are rolling out this Payment Plan completely interest-free! All you pay is a third of your order on each installment.

You cannot transfer your Payment Plan order to someone else until the final installment has been paid. While in the payment period, you are fully responsible for making payments on the installments. Once the final installment has been paid, you can transfer your order if need be.

Yes, you can cancel your Payment Plan order before the final installation has been paid only and receive a credit on your account for a future purchase with Shambhala Music Festival. If you choose to do this please contact sales@shambhalamusicfestival.com immediately. * Please note: Your order can only be cancelled while in the “Payment Period”. Once the final installment has been paid, no credits can be issued as per Shambhala Music Festival’s Terms & Conditions.

Unfortunately no. PayPal does not allow changes to the automatic payment dates. 

Unfortunately, we are only able to offer the Payment Plan for new orders and cannot alter orders that have already been completed. Sorry about that!

We will send you a SMF transaction receipt that include your Order ID # and information on how to log-in to access your order online. Your order will also appear on your online account once your final payment has been made, not before.
