Plan Your Journey: Arrival Update

To streamline your arrival experience and keep our highways safe, we have made several important improvements for guests of the 25th Annual Shambhala Music Festival. Please read the following information to prepare for your journey home 💜

Entrance Update 

Travelling Westbound? Enter at 8532 Hwy 3

NEW FOR 2024: We are pleased to announce a new entrance location for Westbound traffic only! Are you travelling from Creston, Cranbrook, Alberta, Spokane or beyond? Please follow the highway signs to enter at our Westbound Entrance.

Westbound access to Shambhala Music Festival is 4 kilometres East of the original entrance that most festival guests would be familiar with.

The address is 8532 Hwy 3. Use these coordinates in your GPS or Maps app to map out where to turn off as signage is limited: 49.107529, -117.257802

Travelling Eastbound? Enter at 7790 Hwy 3

NEW FOR 2024: The original entrance location will be designated a right turn only lane, allowing for expedited entry and reducing the risk of traffic congestion. Are you travelling from Nelson, Salmo, Vancouver and beyond? Please follow the highway signs to enter at our Eastbound Entrance.

Eastbound access to the Shambhala Music Festival will be via the original entrance, which you are all familiar with. 

The address is the Salmo River Ranch, 7790 Hwy 3, Salmo, BC, V0G 1Z0, Canada.

Soft Opening - vehicle intake will begin at 12:01 AM on Tuesday 

To support our valued Highways teams, we will begin loading vehicles onto the Salmo River Ranch at 12.01 am, before the gate opens for wristbands and Early Entry. 

Tuesday at 12:01 AM - Vehicles are permitted onto the Salmo River Ranch, to begin queuing for Early Entry.

Please be prepared and expect delays. 

Tuesday at 6:00 AM - Festival gates open for Early Entry (cashless payment only).  

Please note: guests will not be granted access to the festival grounds or camping zones before 6:00 am on Tuesday. 

Highway Etiquette  

DO’s

  • Follow the signs as directed 
  • Enter the designated entrance per the direction of your travel 
  • Maintain a safe travel distance from vehicles around
  • Maintain the speed limits 
  • Ensure you are sober, well-rested and have a nominated designated driver 

DONT’s

  • Don’t stop on the highway unnecessarily 
  • Absolutely no U-turns on the highway 
  • Don’t abuse the Shambhala Music Festival crew 

Individuals found disobeying these safety guidelines risk having their festival ticket cancelled.

Don’t forget: Early Entry, Parking & Camping Upgrades are available via credit or debit card ONLY this year.
