YES! When you arrive at the ranch, your ticket will be scanned, small hole punched in it and then it will be returned to you as a momento of this momentous occasion!
You know your ticket is valid if you purchased the ticket yourself from
an
authorized ticket store or through our
online ordering system. We
urge you NOT to buy tickets off the street, you assume the risk if you
do. If those tickets were stolen or purchased with a stolen credit
card, the tickets will be invalidated and you will be stuck at the gate
having to pay for another ticket. Protect yourself....if the deal is
too good to be true...you know the rest.
Do not bring your dog. Dogs are not allowed within festival grounds.
It's cold and damp at night, sometimes below 0, so bring some
sweatshirts (or buy them at the site!)at night. During the day it's
about 30 degrees celcius when the sun is out so bring lots of water and
sunscreen. Please bring proper footwear such as flip-flops during the
day and boots at night; it can get pretty muddy throughout the festival
so bring gum boots.
You can purchase tickets online with Interac Online, Visa or Mastercard. Tickets are also available at select ticket
outlets across British Columbia and Alberta, Canada.
This year we are capping our attendance to ten thousand people.
Please go to www.mapquest.com and enter your destination point as V0G 1Z0.
No you don't. However, there are certain areas that will be "car-free"
camping zones. When you arrive, the parking attendant will direct you.
Most Telus cel phones will only work on the ranch if you have an
antenna. The closest phone is in the town of Salmo, 12km from the site.
The site office DOES NOT have a phone available to guests.
We do not offer day passes as the show runs 24 hours a day!
Shambhala is a non-alcohol event. Vehicles may be searched at the main
gate and alcohol will be confiscated. Any alcohol on the grounds will
be dumped.
There will ONLY be tickets at the door if we DO NOT sell out. We encourage you to buy your tickets ahead of time. IF we do not sell out, tickets for 2009 may be available at the gate. CASH ONLY!!!!
E-mail orders@shambhalamusicfestival.com. Be sure to have you order
number handy. Registered mail requires that you sign for your
package/letter. If you are not home when they try to deliver, they will
leave you with a "parcel pick-up card". If you do not claim the letter
within a reasonable amount of time, it will be returned to us.
Tickets will generally take up to 2 weeks for Canadian orders. International orders can expect your tickets to arrive within 3-4weeks. Early early bird tickets may take 6-8 weeks to be delivered.
The festival gates open at 8am on August the 4th for early camping at $50 per person and on August 6th for $25 per person. There is no entertainment and all stages are closed until Thursday the 5th at noon. ALL PRICE CHANGES ($50 > $25 > reg ticket entry) OCCUR AT 8AM - not midnight. Camping is included in the cost of your ticket between August 6th and the 9th. Festival grounds must be cleared by noon on Monday the 9th.
While children can come to Shambhala, it is an adult-oriented festival.
There are no special offerings for kids, no activities, no parks, etc.
Music is played 24 hours a day, and it is recommended that you bring
ear protection for your little ones. It is easy for kids to wander and
get lost; the grounds are expansive and well-treed with many pathways,
there are large crowds, and a swiftly moving river runs through the
property. If you do bring kids, PLEASE PLEASE watch them carefully at
all times - you are responsible for their well being!
Children 11 and under are free, 12 and older are full price.
Attendees
who are age 18 or younger must be under the supervision of a
responsible adult chaperon at all times. A chaperon can be a) the
child's parent(s) or b) someone, 25 years of age or older, who has a notarized letter from the
child's parent(s) giving the child permission to travel with and be at
the festival with the named chaperon. The note MUST be signed by a
Notary Public, or it is NOT VALID.
Each parent and/or chaperon
and child in their care will report to the Will Call booth, where
Shambhala will issue a special wristband to the youth and parent/chaperon. These wristbands
will be used by staff to easily identify minors with their
chaperon/parent, and will be a different colour from the general admission wristbands.
